MUSKEGON, MI – WVIB V-100 Radio in Muskegon will again broadcast every regular season and play-off football game of the Muskegon Big Red football team in 2020.

Handling the play-by-play duties will be Bob Eacker, who has been the radio voice of Muskegon High School football since 2010. Eacker will be joined in the broadcast booth by color commentator Brian Eacker. Melvin Lane will also back as sideline reporter.

“We are delighted that Bob, Brian and Melvin are back for another season of broadcasting on V-100, WVIB,” said Rich Berry, Director of Sales for Cumulus Radio, the company that owns WVIB. “They are veteran broadcasters who really know Muskegon High School Football.”

“Since the majority of people will not be allowed to watch the games in person, our broadcasts will be the only way that they can follow all of the action. ”

Because of COVID-19 restrictions on crowd size in Michigan, the number of fans allowed to attend all high school football games has been limited to two family members per player per game. That will likely restrict the number of spectators to around 300 per game.

Game broadcasts will begin at 6:00 pm and kick-off is at 7 pm.

WVIB will provide play-by-play coverage for all six regular season games and all play-off games – hopefully all the way to Ford Field in December for the State Championship game.

“We’ve been lucky enough to be a witness to the amazing success of Muskegon High School,” said Eacker. “Every year, they are a fantastic team. With COVID-19, things will definitely be different this year, but we’re here to bring the games to the fans who won’t be able to see the team for themselves.”

“That’s an awesome responsibility and we’re going to work hard to make this year special to everyone who tunes into V-100.”

Football in 2020 Play-Offs begin October 30th, all teams qualify.
