(Muskegon, MI: July 10, 2018) – Mercy Health is moving forward with plans to develop a new health care facility at 1670 E. Sherman Boulevard. The future site, which is conveniently close to the Mercy Campus hospital location, will house an Urgent Care and Workplace Health. While a timeline for opening has yet to be determined, planning and renovation work will begin soon and take at least nine months to complete. The move is designed to provide greater access to health care services that are in high demand throughout the Lakeshore region.

“We are looking forward to offering more convenient and accessible health care offerings near where our community members work and live,” said Michael Weessies, vice president of Business Health Solutions for Mercy Health. “Workplace Health will now be more centrally located for all of the individuals who are employed at the nearby industrial park’s many businesses, and also for our nearly 4,000 colleagues who utilize our Workplace Health services.”

The Urgent Care will allow patients access to a provider when their ailments are not life-threatening, such as insect bites, coughs, earaches and sore throats.
