MUSKEGON, MI –  The inaugural “Muskegon Summer Wine Up” festival kicks off at Hackley Park in downtown Muskegon on Saturday, June 8th, 2019.

With the “Muskegon Summer Wine Up,” the five Cumulus Radio stations of Muskegon are working hard to bring Muskegon a brand new festival that will be unique, educational and fun.

“Our goal is to put together a list of premiere wineries and bring them to one big festival to celebrate the ceremonial start of summer,” explained Rich Berry, Director of Sales for Cumulus Radio in Muskegon.

“For me, the end of school has always signaled the ‘real’ start of summer,” said Berry. “We’re putting on a party where wine will be the star. Hopefully this will become an annual event on the Lakeshore.”

You have to be 21 years of age or older to attend the “Muskegon Summer Wine Up.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to try and sample over 100 different types of wines, according to Berry. Samples will be 1.5 ounces. The “Muskegon Summer Wine Up” will kick off on Saturday, June 8th, 2019 from 2PM until 8 PM in Downtown Muskegon’s Hackley Park.

“Whether you are a wine connoisseur or you are a wine novice and want to learn more, this is going to be a fun event,” said Berry. “We want to create a first class wine festival in Muskegon.”

Sponsors of the “Muskegon Summer Wine Up” include the Little River Casino, HarborLight Credit Union, and the Parties in the Park.

Admission is $15.00 and includes a stemless souvenir wine glass and four wine sample tickets.
