The ZP Challenge comes to Muskegon County

Muskegon County has been chosen as the first community in the country to participate in the ZP Challenge. This simple wellness program was created and designed by Walmart and is based on making one better choice each day in any, or all, of the following four categories – fitness, food, family, and money. Designed in 21-day periods, participants simply tell their story every 21-days inside the ZP app.  Entries are then reviewed, winners are awarded a cash prize, and their stories will be shared across Muskegon County.

Muskegon’s ZP Challenge will begin March 1 and end on May 31. Anyone that lives within Muskegon County is encouraged to participate. There will be five winners per month, March, April, and May, with each winner receiving $1K in cash. Each of these 15 winners will then be invited to the Mercy Health Seaway Run, where three of them will be selected as grand champions.  The Grand Champions will receive $5K, $10K or $15 in a cash award, and announced at the Seaway Run on June 27th, 2020.

“As Muskegon and Walmart work together, we can inspire more people to live a better life. We leverage the ZP Challenge to help promote our combined resources to the local community in a compelling and engaging way.  ZP is all about making small better choices within everyday life,” said David Hoke, Senior Director, Walmart U.S. Health and Wellness. “We know that our associates are part of the greater community and we know that together we can Watch Muskegon Go.”

The ZP Challenge started with Walmart and Sam’s Club employees nationwide and has had nearly 3 million participants participate in the challenge since 2012. There is no fee to participate and the goal is to make more positive lifestyle choices. Sharing these stories can help inspire others to do the same. More information at:
