New ‘Uniquely Qualified’ Logistics and Expediting Companies launch in Muskegon
Muskegon— September 29, 2021 — In the world of business, titles such as Veteran-owned, Minority-owned (Black/Latino), and Woman-owned seem to turn heads these days, especially now as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion mean so much. This is how the ‘uniquely qualified’ Valor Carriers, LLC and Valor Logistics & Consulting, LLC check all boxes. Tony and Samara McIntosh are a husband-and-wife entrepreneurial team that have a heart to restore excellent customer service, precision, consistency, and follow-through back to the supply chain management and logistics industry. These are attributes that this sector has fallen behind on for many years. They launched their businesses in April of 2021 and haven’t looked back since. They saw an opportunity in the midst of a pandemic to capitalize on their collective experiences and become their own bosses. There is definitely a deep desire to teach and impart a sense of generational wealth to their children and empower them to know that they can in fact, do anything! Tony is the Owner/Operator of Valor Carriers, LLC. He has spent the majority of his career in maintenance and mechanics, safety engineering, and truck driving. He is an alumnus of Whitehall High School, Class of 1997, and a United States Army Veteran. Not only is he highly skilled and trained in his craft, but he also prides himself on delivering excellent service to his clients and customers, an art that is not common in the transport industry!
Samara is the Principal of Valor Logistics & Consulting, LLC, a freight brokerage that is fully bonded, insured and holds an active authority through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). She has spent her career serving Muskegon County through case management via various non-profit organizations including Hackley Community Care, and West Michigan Works. She holds a degree in Human Services from Grace Christian University, which later took her career into Human Resources for companies such as Peterson Farms and Boar’s Head Provisions Co. The freight brokerage directly serves manufacturers and shippers who are in need of third-party logistics (3PL) services from start to finish. While Samara does have roots in Muskegon Heights, as her mother was born here, she is originally from Grand Rapids and graduated from East Kentwood High School in 1999. Together, Tony and Samara are the driving force behind the Valor Brand. Tony says “We wanted to build a brand that spoke to the qualities that Samara and I strived so hard to provide while we worked for other companies.
