Muskegon, Michigan, October 2, 2020 – Muskegon Police Residency Ownership (MKGPRO) will award a new grant to an incoming Muskegon Heights Police Officer.

“Cam Green is a heartening example of a newly sworn police officer making the commitment to live and serve in the same community.  We are proud to present to him our first MKGPRO cash award granted to a police officer,” stated Max McKee.  Officer Green graduated in September from Grand Valley State Police Academy.

MKGPRO was established in 2019 by Sand Products Corporation and its subsidiary the Mart Dock to provide funding encouraging newly sworn law enforcement officers to purchase a home in the community in which they serve.  Any newly sworn Muskegon or Muskegon Heights police officer who commits to purchasing a home and reside in either city, qualifies for the program.  The location and condition of the home are factors that determine the MKGPRO financial award to the officer.  Awards are made in amounts up to $5,000 per year for six years.

“We felt it was important to help police officers and the community to build strong neighborhoods and relationships.  What better way than to have those same police officers as your neighbors,” continued McKee.

MKGPRO worked closely with both City of Muskegon and Muskegon Heights Police Departments to implement this award program.
