Muskegon Heights Board of Education appoints Patricia Minott to Public School Academy Board

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, MI – Veteran school administer and educator Patricia Minott will lend her expertise to the Muskegon Heights Academy System Charter School Board of Directors as a new member.

The district’s Board of Education made the appointment at a special meeting Dec. 15. In its ongoing call for accountability and action, the Board of Education also voted to remove Joseph Warren from the PSA Board.

“The Board of Education is looking to enhance an experienced, education-focused PSA Board,” said BOE President Trinell Scott. “Patricia offers years of education knowledge and administrative experience that we hope will significantly improve issues in the Academy System. Our focus remains on providing the very best, quality education for our students.”

From 1972 to 2014, Minott was the speech and language pathologist for the Muskegon Heights Public School District. She previously served the district in several capacities, including interim director of special services, summer school administrator, summer school elementary  teacher, and early childhood evaluation team member.

Minott earned a master’s degree in education from Grand Valley State University and a master’s degree in speech pathology from Ball State University. She  also has a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and audiology from Ball State University.
