Gordon Water Systems Celebrates 50th Anniversary
The year 2023 marks the 50th year of business for Gordon Water Systems, a family-owned
company that serves as a provider of bottled water and water treatment solutions to the
residents and businesses of West Michigan.
Gordon Water Systems was founded in 1973 by Gordon & Merlyn Duisterhof as a water
softener dealership, and soon after was designated the official dealer of the non-electric
Kinetico softener for Southwest Michigan. The company is now owned by the 2nd generation of
family, with Steve & Tom Duisterhof serving as the current owners.
In the last 30 years Steve & Tom have introduced several new products and services to
improve quality of life for their clientele, including bottled water service, coffee retail, and air
filtration systems. Under their leadership, the business has expanded its geographic reach,
north into the Grand Rapids area as well as west toward Lake Michigan. A 3rd generation of
family has joined the business as members of the water specialist team, where they continue
the tradition of helping families, businesses, and other organizations find the water treatment
solutions that best fit their needs.

Steve & Tom attribute their success both to their dedicated employees, and to the loyal
customers and community partners who they have worked with over the years. Gordon Water
Systems will be having a yearlong celebration of this milestone, and will be offering specials
and giveaways throughout 2023 as a show of gratitude to their customers.
Gordon Water Systems has two distribution centers located in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids,
which also serve as retail centers. They also have two satellite offices located in Portage and
Rockford.
