Frederickson joins Rockford with ample experience in the healthcare sector, having led projects ranging from $1 million to $750 million, including St. Mary’s Hospital Master Plan, Spectrum Health Cancer Center and Patient Tower, MSU College of Health & Human Services and more. Previously, Steve served as president and chief operating officer at The Christman Company and as president of Washington, D.C.-based Rock Creek Companies.

In addition to building and maintaining relationships with healthcare clients and overseeing Rockford’s construction projects within the healthcare sector, Steve will bring a unique perspective to his work. He will leverage a holistic approach to healthcare design and construction that focuses on creating spaces with a healing environment for patients and workers.

“In addition to his vast industry experience, Steve brings with him a unique approach to healthcare design, construction and development,” said Mike VanGessel, CEO at Rockford Construction. “Michigan has become a destination for world-class patient care and innovative research. With ongoing projects like the MSU Grand Rapids Innovation Park, we feel this is the perfect time to welcome Steve to the team to lead our work in this critical industry.”

“Healthcare continues to change as we discover newer, better methods of care,” Frederickson said. “It only makes sense that in addition to advances in medical science, we also look at ways to build better and more efficient spaces to deliver that care to those who need it. It is very humbling to have the chance to impact the environment where patients, doctors and nurses work together to better society.”
