You can help John Ball Zoo win $25,000 for lake sturgeon conservation
John Ball Zoo is asking for the public’s help to win $25,000 for lake sturgeon conservation after being named a finalist in a national conservation contest sponsored by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA).
The contest is in conjunction with AZA’s Party for the Planet, which is a combined celebration of Earth Day, Endangered Species Day, and World Oceans Day. The celebration encourages positive action to make a difference in our world. AZA then challenged its members to produce a one-minute video demonstrating their celebration’s positive impact.
John Ball Zoo submitted a video highlighting the conservation impact made during the Westside Outside event on April 13, where community members came together to clean-up neighborhoods and waterways. John Ball Zoo’s video entry was selected as a top 10 video finalist.
The AZA will use online votes as the primary factor to select the first- and second-place winners. The second-place winner will receive a $10,000 conservation donation.
You can view and vote for the John Ball Zoo video through July 31st by visiting AZA.org/partyfortheplanetcontest.
