Tee Up for 18 on the 18th to Help Working Families Succeed in Oceana County
(Oceana County, MI) – The 3rd Annual Golf United event will take place on August 18, 2018 at the Oceana Golf Club in Shelby, with proceeds benefitting United Way of the Lakeshore programs in Oceana County
“We are so excited for our Annual Golf outing,” said Barbara Saunders Sims, United Way of the Lakeshore’s Oceana County Director. “It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a fun afternoon of golf and a delicious dinner, while helping working families in Oceana County succeed.”
In Oceana County, 47% of working, tax-paying families (also known as ALICE – Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) don’t make enough to cover the basics – housing, child care, food, health care and transportation. Proceeds from Golf United will help support programs that are helping these families succeed, by connecting them to resources for income stability, affordable child care, and more.
The event is a 4 person scramble, with a shotgun start at 1:00 pm; golfers of all skill levels are encouraged to join in the fun! Golfing will be followed by a dinner at 5:30, catered by Joanna Clark, with contests, prizes, and raffles. The cost per player is $75 or $55 for Oceana Golf Course Members. Guests are also welcome to join us for the dinner; cost is $10 per guest. Organizers are also seeking sponsors for the event. Sponsorship dollars allow all registration dollars raised by golfers to go directly toward United Way programs in Oceana County that advance the education, financial stability and health of Oceana County families.
