Summer Reading Kick-Off
In-Person in Hackley Park
Saturday, May 30 from 10:00am – 1:00pm
Join Hackley Public Library & community partners for a Summer Reading Kick-Off celebration in Hackley Park!
We’ll feature special guest Johnathan Rand from 11:00am-12:00pm (author of the Michigan Chillers series!), and a variety of fun things and activities!
Activities are all FREE to enjoy.
Some of the activities include (but are not limited to):
- Music provided by JMX Entertainment
- Cardio Drumming and Yoga with Neal Fitness Center
- FREE books from Embrace Books and the Community Book Bus
- NERF Challenge with Joel Tacey (this activity will be from 12pm-1pm)
- Face Painting from Kayzah Creations
- Lawn Games
- Kids Axe Throwing Station
- Photo Booth from MI Photo Booth
- Summer Reading Sign-Up
- Bubble Station
- Author Tables

There will be many food trucks/tents to purchase delicious snacks and treats from while in Hackley Park as well!
