Sonia Gilbert V.P. of Operations retires from Lange Flooring Center
Muskegon, MI – May 20, 2021
Lange Flooring officially announced that Sonia Gilbert retires effective May 27, 2021.
Scott Gilbert and son Nathan Gilbert will assume the primary roles Sonia filled since 2001.
Sonia acted as sales, marketing, and operations manager since 2005. She served in the growth and service that Lange Flooring Center has provided to the Lakeshore area since 1966. A favored part of her role was helping multiple generations of loyal families with flooring needs. She also enjoyed community outreach opportunities and events. Prior to purchasing the business with Scott in 1996, Sonia worked in special education and customer service.
She will continue to serve as an offsite advisor to ensure a smooth transition for Scott and the Lange team. In particular, Sonia has been preparing Nathan to transition from solely doing sales, to step into her role. Lange will seek to fill the sales position soon. Julie Gilbert will serve as the social media director position vacated by Sonia.
Sonia stated: “this transition, although planned, remains bittersweet. Our “staff”, “installers” are not staff and installers, they are family. I look forward to having more time to volunteer and to pursue a new career in the medical field. I’m most excited to just be mom, wife, and friend. I am grateful and deeply blessed to have had the opportunity to work with, grow with, teach and learn from my team, customers and vendors.”
