Porkpie Scholarship Deadline: December 15th
The Porkpie Scholar Grant Program was established in 2008 with a substantial gift from a member of the International Buster Keaton Society who wishes to remain anonymous. The organization matched that gift to create the seed money for this grant program, which offers grants to authors, artists, film preservationists, filmmakers, composers and others who are contributing to the ongoing understanding and appreciation of the life and work of comedian/filmmaker Buster Keaton.
The International Buster Keaton Society Porkpie Scholar Grant Program issues grants of $350 annually to one or two recipients (“Porkpie Scholars”) per year.
Eligibility:
Grant projects should relate in some shape or form to the goals of the International Buster Keaton Society. Types of projects may include (but are not restricted to): articles or books, film restoration, musical scores, documentary films about Keaton, plays and art exhibits.

Planning Underway for the 2018 International Buster Keaton Convention
Planning is underway for the 2018 International Buster Keaton Convention, taking place October 5 and 6, 2018 in Muskegon, Michigan.
Have you ever thought of being a presenter at the Convention? Maybe THIS is your year!
What are we looking for from presenters? Well, pretty much anything goes, as long as it has to do with Buster in some fashion. This year we had lectures, discussions, performances, film montages and more. And we’re always looking for something new.
Presentations should be between 35 and 45 minutes in length.
All ideas will be considered Deadline for presentation submissions is April 30th, 2018.
(Note: From the board, to the officers, to the convention organizers, The Damfinos is an entirely volunteer-run organization. Convention presenters similarly do not receive compensation.)

As you know, we raised over $18,000 towards the cost of our BUSTER KEATON STUDIOS plaque. We are in the process now of preparing to ship out all the great PERKS that you’ve requested.
