Pacific Floorcare to Invest $2.5M in Expansion and Create New Jobs in the City of Muskegon
36,000 square foot expansion to accommodate product and personnel growth
Muskegon, Mich. – Greater Muskegon Economic Development (GMED) announced today that Pacific Floorcare, a company dedicated to providing quality, innovative floor care equipment to its customers, is expanding its operations in the City of Muskegon. The new development includes a 36,000 sq. ft. expansion to the west end of the building, which will serve as a customer training center, additional space to accommodate rotational molding equipment, and new product manufacturing lines.
Once completed, the new building will provide a total of 72,000 sq. ft. of commercial office and manufacturing space. The project is expected to cost $2.5 million and will be finalized in the winter of 2024. Furthermore, the expansion will lead to the employment of 17 new staff members over the next two years, after construction is completed.
“Pacific has been on an amazing journey, doubling the size of our business in just three years. Our unwavering focus has been on developing innovative cleaning machines that help our clients clean smarter and enhance productivity. We are excited to announce that our new building expansion will not only provide space to support our product additions and forward-thinking ingenuity, but also a state-of-the-art training center, which will solidify our brand equity and further enhance our customer experience,” said Bill Fisher, President of Pacific Floorcare.
Pacific Floorcare supplies retail, industrial, education, and healthcare facilities with a variety of floor care equipment and solutions. In addition, most of Pacific Floorcare’s materials are sourced in the United States with 50 percent of its suppliers being located in Michigan.
The City of Muskegon Commission approved a tax abatement of $478,128 over twelve years for Pacific Floor Care at yesterday’s meeting to incentivize the 17 new jobs and business expansion.
“The City of Muskegon is thrilled to support continued growth of our thriving business base,” said Jake Eckholm, Director of Development Services. “Pacific Floorcare is well-known as an exemplary employer in the Port City Industrial Park and this crucial expansion will provide new opportunities in our community for years to come.”
“This project is the result of a collaborative effort between Pacific Floorcare, GMED, and the City of Muskegon,” said Marla Schneider, President/CEO. “GMED is excited to see this expansion move forward, as it brings new job opportunities and investment to the area, further solidifying Muskegon’s reputation as a hub for innovation in West Michigan.”
