MUSKEGON, MI – An abandoned storefront in Muskegon’s Midtown area on Third Street is getting a complete makeover for a tenant who hopes to add to a developing “retro” vibe there.

The location at 1121 Third Street will be renovated to accommodate a board game and comic store that will include a social area. The Griffin’s Rest is expected to open in June, and will include a retail store as well as a social area for playing games and socializing, according to the owner.

The property was purchased last August at Muskegon County’s tax foreclosure auction by Lighthouse Property Management, a property rehabilitation and management company that expanded from Grand Rapids into Muskegon last June.
