Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Brings Farewell Tour to Muskegon’s Historic Frauenthal Theater

Muskegon, MI — After nearly 60 years of making music history, the legendary Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is hitting the road one final time—and they’re bringing ALL THE GOOD TIMES: The Farewell Tour to Muskegon’s Frauenthal Theater on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

Known for timeless classics like “Mr. Bojangles,” “Fishin’ in the Dark,” and “An American Dream,” the three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning band will deliver one of their final live performances in a celebration of Americana, country, folk, and rock.

“All The Good Times perfectly describes our career,” the band shared. “Playing our music for Dirt Band fans all over the world has been an incredible experience. That beautiful communal give and take with our audience is like nothing else—and it’s what we’ll be celebrating on this farewell tour. We look forward to seeing you. Good times will be had by all!”

About the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Formed in 1966 in Southern California, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band helped shape the country rock and roots music movement. Their 1970 breakout album, Uncle Charlie & His Dog Teddy, featured the enduring hit “Mr. Bojangles.”

They went on to release the groundbreaking Will The Circle Be Unbroken albums, collaborating with icons like Mother Maybelle Carter, Doc Watson, Earl Scruggs, and Emmylou Harris. Over the years, the band has earned GRAMMY®, CMA, and IBMA Awards and remains one of the most influential groups in American roots music.

Their most recent release, Dirt Does Dylan (2022), was praised for its heartfelt tribute to Bob Dylan’s songwriting.
