Muskegon County Homeless Continuum of Care Announces Annual Point in Time Count

Muskegon, MI – During the evening of Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the Muskegon County Homeless Continuum of Care Network Outreach Committee will conduct the Point in Time (PIT) Count. Volunteers are still needed to join our community-wide effort to identify individuals who are literally homeless and unsheltered.

This event provides an opportunity for the community to come together and ensure that every neighbor in need is accounted for and supported. By working together, we can make a meaningful difference in addressing homelessness in Muskegon County.

The PIT Count is a nationwide initiative that gathers critical data on homelessness. This data not only highlights the immediate needs within our community but also supports funding requests to private and public entities for housing and services. These resources are crucial for achieving the ultimate goal of ending homelessness. Community participation is essential to the success of this initiative.

The effort to end homelessness relies on the data collected during the PIT Count, which helps secure federal and state funding for housing programs. It also provides an opportunity to engage directly with individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity and connect them to the services they need and deserve.
