MICHIGAN STATE REPRESENTATIVE HOLLY HUGHES & SENATOR GOEFF HANSEN VISIT OAKRIDGE PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO PROMOTE MARCH IS READING MONTH

Friday, March 24, 2017 (MUSKEGON, MI) – Earlier today Michigan State Representative Holly Hughes and Senator Goeff Hansen visited Oakridge Lower Elementary to read to a selection of our elementary students in celebration of National Reading Month (March).

 

Representative Hughes read to third graders at Oakridge Lower Elementary. Representative Hughes serves the 91st District that encompasses part of Muskegon County.

 

Senator Hansen read to kindergarten, first and second grade students from Oakridge Lower

Elementary. Senator Hansen serves the 34th State Senate District, including Muskegon County.

 

 

“We are excited to host such important guests”, says Superintendent, Tom Livezey. “Teaching kids how to read is one of the most important things we do here at Oakridge Public Schools.  We are very proud to see our legislators recognize our efforts and the accomplishments of our students.”
