The Future 15 Awards are an annual recognition from the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce in partnership with JCI Greater Muskegon and WGVU Public Media. This event has been held annually since 2015, with almost 200 leaders having been recognized. These young professionals are making significant contributions to the growth and success of their companies as well as immense community volunteerism that is making a positive impact along the Muskegon Lakeshore.

Meet The Future 15

Bridget Larson |
The Salvation Army |
| Bridget has dedicated the past 5.5 years to The Salvation Army, where she leads transformative programs including the food pantry, direct assistance services, the Thanksgiving Turkey Run, Angel Tree Christmas assistance, and a daily grab-and-go market available five days a week for neighbors in need. Committed to creating a judgment-free, respectful environment, she works tirelessly to ensure individuals and families feel supported while accessing essential resources. Through innovative partnerships, Bridget has collaborated with the Farmers Market to bring fresh, locally grown produce directly to pantry neighbors, expanding access to healthier food options. Her leadership extends throughout the community through active involvement in the Food Club Workgroup, Community Information Exchange, Feeding America food pantry partner meetings, Continuum of Care outreach subcommittee, and service on the United Way strategic grant committee for the past two grant cycles. Recognized as a Bigg Spotlight winner for her work addressing food insecurity, Bridget also serves as a Livability Lab coach and action team member. Beyond her nonprofit leadership, she is an entrepreneur who owns both an event security business and a food truck. |

Cameron Lipko |
Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) |
| After honorably serving as a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy, Cam and his wife, Sam, moved to Muskegon in 2021. Cam took the position as Traffic and Safety Engineer at the Muskegon office of the Michigan Department of Transportation, whose area of responsibility covers Mason, Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, and Allegan Counties. His responsibilities include designing construction work zones, analyzing systemic crash patterns, installing new school zones, improving traffic signal performance, and being the public-facing bridge between local communities and MDOT engineering decisions. After moving to Muskegon with no family ties or past connections, Cam joined JCI Greater Muskegon in 2022 to become immersed in his new community. Since then, he has co-chaired the Muskegon St. Patrick’s Day Parade, has served on committees for Snowfest and the Muskegon County Veteran Resource Deployment, and has volunteered at Parties in The Park, Muskegon Lake Watershed Clean-up, EXIT Program Thanksgiving Dinner, and The People’s Table. He is currently serving his second year as Director of Community on the Board of Directors for JCI Greater Muskegon. Cam is also a leader for Indy Next Gen, an organization focused on engaging underrepresented young voters to take part in local politics. |

Dimitri Poland |

| At Braeburn Wealth Management, Dimitri serves as Vice President of Investments, where he has had the opportunity to help lead the growth of our firm’s financial planning capabilities. His focus is on delivering clear, practical guidance that helps clients stay on track toward retirement and other long-term goals, while continuing to enhance how Braeburn serves and communicates with the families they work with. Outside of the office, Dimitri stays actively involved in the Muskegon community through both Muskegon Rotary and JCI Muskegon, where he serves on their boards. Within Rotary, he contributes to the Pours for Community and Social & Engagement committees, helping organize events that support local initiatives. As a newer member of JCI Muskegon, he has assisted with Snow Fest and the St. Patrick’s Day parade, and looks forward to getting more involved in events like Parties in the Park. |

Elizabeth (Eli) Fox |

| Elizabeth Fox, known to friends and neighbors as Eli (eh-LEE), is a champion for the Muskegon lakeshore and a Michigander through and through. She comes from both European immigrant grandparents, and also Native American grandparents of Chippewa and Métis traditions. She was the second hire at BOOM LLC, a Michigan-based startup, and as Data & Systems Director strengthens infrastructure for community organizations building multiracial, working-class power across the state. Prior to growing the BOOM, she worked for 13 years at Muskegon Community College advancing student success. Of note, she was humbled to advocate for military veterans and their families as Manager of Student Success & Veterans Affairs for much of that time. Eli was re-elected at-Large in fall 2025 to Norton Shores City Council, where she serves as a steward of our community. She is proud to be the first openly gay official elected to the Council. She earned degrees from the University of Michigan (BA) and Western Michigan University (MA). Her favorite thing is a walk with family, friends, or dogs in our neighborhood coastline trails during any season of the year. |

Emilee Vanlinden |
Fresh Coast Counseling |
| Emilee Vanlinden grew up in Spring Lake, Michigan, and moved to Muskegon following obtaining her Master’s of Social Work Degree at the University of Michigan. After working for Community Mental Health for 5 years, Emilee and her husband started Fresh Coast Counseling. Emilee is currently the Clinical Director and Supervisor and has a passion for bringing Mental Health awareness and resources to this community. Emilee has also spent time volunteering at the YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter in Grand Rapids and has hosted small fundraisers for Every Woman’s Place at her office annually. She is currently a Lakeshore Human Taskforce member, a new member at the Women’s Division Chamber of Commerce, an Athena on the Lakeshore Finalist, and a Freshman Volleyball Coach for Mona Shores. Emilee is also a mom of 3 children, with another on the way! You will find her and her family at community events and fundraisers throughout the year, at the beach, reading a book, or playing volleyball. |

Dr. Emma Schroeder |
Equinox Chiropractic |
| Dr. Emma Schroeder is the owner of Equinox Chiropractic, where she provides chiropractic care for both people and animals. She holds several professional certifications, including her animal chiropractic certification through the IVCA and advanced human chiropractic technique certifications. Dr. Schroeder is also contracted with the VA Community Care Network to serve local veterans, helping to expand access to conservative, patient-centered healthcare within the community. Her work has been recognized locally through honors including the Comcast RISE grant in 2025. Beyond her professional practice, Dr. Schroeder is deeply involved in community service and leadership. She has been active with JCI Greater Muskegon since 2020, serving three years on the board of directors and helping to cofound the annual Veteran’s Resource Deployment and Standdown event. She is also an active member of the Muskegon Rotary Club, serving on both the environmental committee and the EarlyAct committee, where she supports student growth and leadership. In addition, she volunteers as a leader with her son’s Cub Scout Pack and 4-H horse club, supporting youth development, education, and community engagement. |

Ethan Lohman |

| Ethan Lohman is a financial services leader focused on developing people, strengthening teams, and helping individuals and families build confidence in their financial decisions. He has played a key role in leading teams through organizational transition, including working alongside leadership to successfully integrate a merger while maintaining stability, culture, and a strong member experience. Ethan has also contributed to shaping business banking strategies with his leadership team to better serve the needs of local small businesses and improve access to practical financial solutions. Ethan is actively engaged in community impact work, including volunteer involvement with First Tee, a nonprofit that empowers kids and teens through golf by teaching life skills, character, and perseverance. He is passionate about youth development and creating opportunities for long-term community growth. Outside of his professional and nonprofit involvement, Ethan and his family regularly support local initiatives, including renting out a whole theater and giving away tickets during the holidays to help struggling families experience meaningful time together. He remains committed to serving others, strengthening financial literacy, and supporting the growth of the Muskegon Lakeshore community. |

Greg Sischo |
Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce |
| Greg Sischo is the Vice President of the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, where he oversees membership and daily operations. A Muskegon native, Greg began his career with the Chamber as a marketing intern before building a strong track record across several local nonprofit organizations in roles spanning marketing, program management, business development, and operations. Most recently, as Director of Business at Pioneer Resources, he led significant growth in transportation services, launching innovative partnerships with organizations like AgeWell Services and Hackley Community Care, as well as collaborating with the City of Muskegon and MATS to implement the summer Beach Shuttle program in 2025. Throughout his career, Greg has focused on strengthening community partnerships, expanding access to services, and aligning programs with community needs. His work has contributed to increased engagement, stronger organizational visibility, and measurable growth across the organizations he has served. Beyond his professional work, Greg is deeply committed to community service. He is an active member of Muskegon Rotary, supporting youth through the Interact Committee, and serves as Vice President of the Hackley Public Library Board, where he contributes to financial oversight and facilities planning. He holds a Master of Public Administration from Central Michigan University. |

Kaitlin Hermanson |
Trinity Health Muskegon |
| Born and raised in Muskegon, Kaitlin Hermanson is passionate about building a stronger, more resilient lakeshore through her work and community engagement. After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2020, she was excited about the opportunity to return to the Muskegon area and has been with Trinity Health Muskegon for the past 5 years. In her current role as the Manager of Farm Programs, Kaitlin designs, delivers, and supports the expansion of Food is Medicine programs for community members experiencing nutrition insecurity and/or managing a diet-related chronic disease. As a part of her commitment to our community, Kaitlin is involved in the Muskegon County Food Policy Network, the Food Club Workgroup, and is a member of the Muskegon Rotary Club. Outside of work, you’re most likely to run into Kaitlin spending a day at the beach, visiting one of our local restaurants or cafes, or on the mat at a yoga class. |

Karen Kekelik |

| Karen Kekelik is an attorney, community advocate, and co-owner of IndiGrow in Muskegon, where she has helped build one of Michigan’s most sustainability-focused cannabis microbusinesses. As Legal Counsel for JCI Michigan, Karen supports leadership development and civic engagement initiatives across the state. Her professional work has included collaboration with legislators, regulators, educational institutions, and community organizations to advance sustainability, consumer safety, and responsible business practices within emerging industries. Karen is deeply involved in volunteerism and community outreach throughout West Michigan. She has helped organize educational programs focused on cannabis safety, sustainability, and youth prevention while supporting local nonprofits, chambers, Rotary initiatives, veterans programs, and community events. Her leadership and advocacy earned her recognition as a 2025 Outstanding Young Michigander, reflecting her ongoing commitment to creating positive change through service, education, and ethical leadership. |

Lanesha Spencer |
Read Muskegon |
| In the past two years, Lanesha has transitioned into community-focused work, where she continues to build on her passion for helping underserved populations. Her work is driven by a genuine desire to create meaningful impact, empower individuals, and support others in reaching their full potential. She has had the pleasure of working for Read Muskegon, being on the Advisory Committee for the Blue Print Project, and volunteering with great community resources such as Catholic Charities and Muskegon Heights Area District Library. More recently, Lanesha had the opportunity to volunteer coach a girls volleyball team and which brought her so much joy, as she has always had a strong passion for volleyball and enjoy the energy, teamwork and discipline the game brings to her life. |

Mallory Metzger |
Hackley Public Library |
| Since beginning her work at Hackley Public Library, her roles have provided countless opportunities for building partnerships with local organizations through programming and outreach, as well as building meaningful connections with community members and library patrons. Some of her favorite aspects of representing Hackley Public Library include meeting with community members of all ages at outreach events and schools, showcasing library goings-on through TV and radio, and interacting with patrons at library programs and events. She was so grateful to have the opportunity to participate in ML’s Leadership Academy last year, which provided amazing tools and knowledge for expanding her leadership skills in community efforts. Her strong passion for life-long learning and community culture are driving forces in her endeavors, both professionally and personally. Currently she is part of the Michigan Irish Music Festival Cultural Committee, and has previously been part of the Nelson Neighborhood Community Engagement Committee. |

Rory Thibault |
Land Conservancy of West Michigan |
| Rory grew up along the Lake Michigan shoreline, migrated to St. Louis for University and later private-sector practice in Landscape Architecture. He then returned, working in public-sector Urban Planning and now, non-profit Conservation. Holding a Master of Landscape Architecture and a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, he’s dedicated his education and career to community engagement and stewardship of the commons. He currently serves as the Land Partnerships Manager for the Land Conservancy of West Michigan, protecting our region’s ecologically critical land and helping communities keep nature nearby. He is active in a number of Muskegon-area efforts: serving as the Chair of the Muskegon County Sustainability Advisory Committee; Board Vice-President of the Muskegon County Bicycling Coalition, and in various roles with the Muskegon Lake Watershed Partnership and Muskegon Area Parks & Greenways Coalition. He is also a member of the LEAD Giving Circle with the Community Foundation for Muskegon County. When he’s not working to secure the future of imperiled lands, you can find Rory and his wife exploring routes less-paved along the Lakeshore on their tandem, killing a lawn in pursuit of more ecologically rich landscapes, or enjoying a jazz show at the Block. |

Sarah De La Rosa |
Mediation & Restorative Services |
| Sarah has dedicated more than 15 years to serving residents in Muskegon and surrounding communities through her career in the nonprofit sector. Her work has focused on supporting juveniles, families, schools, victims of violence, justice-involved individuals, and other underserved populations. Through advocacy, outreach, and community-based programming, she has remained committed to improving lives and creating positive opportunities for those in need. In addition to her professional work, Sarah is actively involved in community leadership and volunteerism. She currently serves on the City of Muskegon Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and is a Board Trustee for Sidekicks of West Michigan, which provides inclusive adventures for individuals with disabilities. Sarah is also a member of Greater Muskegon Jaycees, furthering her dedication to service and community impact. Sarah is the proud wife of Erik and mother to Landon and Avani. |

Victoria Bernhardt |
Little Miss Green Thumb / Muskegon Catholic Central |
| Muskegon native, entrepreneur and educator, Victoria Bernhardt is your Little Miss Green Thumb. LMGT is a plant shop and clinic dedicated to helping everyone find their own green thumb! Her store, rooted in downtown Muskegon’s new venue – The Corner – is a lovely shop where you can find plants, create your own potted plant or receive care advice on plants you already have! She sprouts by homes, offices and other local businesses sharing her plant passion. Hosting “Plant Swaps” (where everyone leaves with a plant) and “Plant Bingo” with prizes from local vendors! LMGT helps you enjoy a blooming good time! Victoria also organizes “Planting Parties” for all occasions; while, emphasizing sustainability, environmental education, mental-health awareness, and community connection. As coordinator of the Mike Miller Garden for Nelson Neighborhood, Victoria recruits and leads community gardening programs and workshops. She hosted the inaugural “3rd Street Clean-Up” to help beautify public spaces and build neighborhood pride. During the week, LMGT works as a preschool aide, which allows her to bring nature-based learning experiences to young children. Victoria is also a member of the Master Gardeners Club and very active in performances for The Stage at The Corner – where you might spot her in “Muskegon the Lumber Queen” and “Motown Live.” Victoria truly loves all of nature: wildlife, water, plants and flowers—she is Muskegon’s Little Miss Green Thumb—working to make our world a healthier, happier and yes, “greener” place! |
