Mart Dock for Fisherman’s Landing? City considers land swap

MUSKEGON, MI – The city of Muskegon and the West Michigan Dock & Market Corporation are considering a land swap that would give the city control of lakefront property near the Mart Dock while the company moves its downtown commercial port operations to the east of Muskegon Lake.
The goal is to give residents and visitors greater downtown access to the Muskegon Lake shoreline, said Muskegon City Manager Frank Peterson. The city would swap the Fisherman’s Landing campground and boat launch that the corporation known as the Mart Dock would use as its new shipping hub.
