WHAT:  

  • The groundbreaking ceremony is in celebration of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians’ Odeno (Place of Many Hearts) Development. The event will feature several speakers and a drum ceremony.
  • The project will include the construction of 300 housing units on the property on Sheridan Drive just south of Mt. Garfield Rd.in Fruitport Township
  • The tribe purchased the property from Fruitport Community Schools.
  • The new residential community will include everything from small starter homes for young couples or retirees to energy efficient houses for families, open spaces and walking paths.
