Lakeshore Athena Award to be handed out Oct. 2

MUSKEGON — Carole R. Valade, past editor of Gemini Publications, will be the keynote speaker for the 14th annual Athena on the Lakeshore Award luncheon.

As one of the first women in the U.S. to be named editor of a regional business newspaper, Valade has received numerous awards for writing and newspaper design.
