Halloween Ice Show sells out; Holiday Ice Show at L.C. Walker on deck
MUSKEGON, MI (11/13/18) – Members of the Muskegon Lakeshore Figure Skating Club performed a figure skating show to a capacity crowd days before Halloween. Local skaters ages 5-17 showed off their skills dressed in classic Halloween costumes ranging from Wonder Woman to Eleven to Elsa. Treat bags were handed out to the first 100 kids through the door, and a portion of the candy was donated by Fortino’s of Grand Haven. Radio personality Britta Cleveland of The Muskegon Channel Radio was the emcee.
Looking forward, the figure skating club needed a larger venue and will perform their next show at L.C. Walker Arena. The club also became members of the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce. Club President Kelly St.Martin says, “We are excited to join the Downtown Muskegon businesses and bring figure skating to more kids. All those youth hockey skaters may have little sisters who want to jump and spin with us on the ice.”
On December 8, skaters in the club will perform at intermission at the Muskegon Lumberjacks hockey game and help clean up after the Teddy Bear Toss.
The following day, December 9, the annual Holiday on Ice Show will be held at L.C. Walker Arena. Festively-costumed skaters will present routines to “‘You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”, “Let it Snow”, “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas”, “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” — and more! Muskegon radio personality Andy O’Riley of The Muskegon Channel and Positively Muskegon will emcee the event.
The skaters are from Muskegon, North Muskegon, Whitehall, Grand Haven, Spring Lake and Norton Shores. The show begins at 3:45 on Sunday, December 9 at L.C.Walker Arena. Entry is by donation and is fun for the entire family. St.Martin adds, “Come watch our show and see what we are all about.”
