Holiday Cheer Party!

Drop-In / In-person at Hackley Library

Saturday, December 3 from 5:00-7:00 pm

Celebrate the holiday season with a drop-in Holiday Cheer Party at Hackley Public Library!  Enjoy trivia, bingo, crafts, and light refreshments.  There will be some holiday music playing in the background, plus our Friends of Hackley Library will have some books for sale!  Although the games and crafts are geared more toward adults, all are welcome to attend, including kids, teens, and families, to have fun with this Holiday Cheer Party!  Free.

Snowflake Crafts – December Take and Make Kits

Available to pick up from Hackley Library beginning December 5

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!!  These snowflakes are just as unique as the kind that fall from the sky, but they’re a lot drier and warmer!  We’ll have Sparkly Snowflake craft kits for kids, and big Paper Snowflake craft kits for teens!  Free and available from Hackley Library beginning December 5, while supplies last.

 

Reindeer Hot Cocoa Take and Make Kits

In-person at Hackley Library

Saturday, December 10 from 10:00-2:00 pm

Reindeer Hot Cocoa Take and Make kits will be available for kids and teens to pick up from Hackley Public Library on Saturday, December 10 from 10:00-2:00pm!  Available while supplies last.  Free.

 

Crafty Holiday Day!

The Youth and Teen Services craft closets at Hackley Library are opening up for some fun holiday hijinks!  Drop in to Hackley Library anytime from 10:00-4:00pm for crafting fun!  Great for kids, teens, and families to enjoy.  Free.

 

Teen Hang Out

Come to the Hackley Library Teen Room to talk, color, eat some snacks, listen to music, and think about what we’d like to see happen in the Teen Room in 2023.  Free.

 

Paws and Read with Breezy and Dolly

In-person at Hackley Library

Monday, December 19 from 4:00-5:00 pm

There are two four-legged reading helpers in Hackley Library’s Youth Services!  Practice and strengthen literacy skills by reading out loud to our friendly therapy dogs who are calm, non-judgmental listeners.  They’re excited to hear all the stories, and receive all the belly rubs!  Call 231-722-8014 to register your child for a 20 minute time slot.  Free.

Left to Write – Creative Writing Group

Wednesday, December 14 from 3:30-4:30 pm

If you enjoy creative writing, you’ll love Left to Write, HPL’s very own creative writing group!  Here you can participate in writing exercises, share your own stories, and meet other creative writers (of all experiences, new or seasoned!).
This group provides a low-key atmosphere for writers of all experiences, and everyone is welcome! Remember to bring paper and your favorite pen.  Free.

 

Reader’s Theater: Cozy Christmas Tales

In-person at Hackley Library

Thursday, December 15 from 5:30-6:30 pm

Enjoy a cozy night of Christmas tales at Hackley Library!  Put on by local performer Les Rorick and accompanied by theater performers, including actors from Muskegon Civic Theatre, we invite you to bring a blanket if you’d like, and get cozy with some hot cocoa to watch scenes of holiday magic and whimsy under HPL’s stained glass windows!  *Hot cocoa and candy canes will be provided!
