Drop in anytime during open hours on Friday, October 7 (9-5pm), and take a peek at the very first zines in our collection.  What’s a zine, you ask? Zines can be almost anything! They are typically homemade booklets (copy/printer paper folded and stapled), and can include stories, artwork, poetry, photography, family history/recipes, etc.

There will be information on how to get involved with the collection, plus we’ll have some giveaways and light refreshments, as supplies last.  Free.

Plunge into the world of unsolved homicide in Michigan!

A family bludgeoned to death in Dowagiac.  A trunk full of skulls found in an attic in Ferndale.  A Detroit cult leader found with his head next to his chair.  A typist left to die in a warehouse.  A middle school kid who never came home.  These are some of the cases that haunt Michigan residents.  Registration is preferred – to register, visit the online event calendar at hackleylibrary.org.  Free.
