Greater Muskegon Economic Development Names Trevor Friedeberg as New President and CEO
Muskegon, MI – Greater Muskegon Economic Development (GMED) is pleased to announce the appointment of Trevor Friedeberg as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Friedeberg, a seasoned economic development professional with a proven track record of regional collaboration and business attraction, will officially step into the role on June 2, 2025.
Friedeberg currently serves as President and CEO of the East Central Indiana Regional Partnership, where he has led a nine-county regional economic development organization. Under his leadership, the partnership saw increased private investment, strengthened relationships among regional stakeholders, and the implementation of strategies to attract talent and grow key industry sectors.

Trevor brings the vision, leadership, and stability needed to build on our momentum and guide GMED into its next chapter.”
In his new role, Friedeberg will oversee GMED’s strategic initiatives to attract and retain businesses, support talent development, and enhance quality of life throughout the Muskegon region. He will work closely with public and private sector partners to position Greater Muskegon as a vibrant, innovative, and competitive community.

Friedeberg brings more than 15 years of experience in economic development, having previously held leadership roles with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. His background includes spearheading regional initiatives, leading successful fundraising campaigns, and fostering collaboration across government, education, and industry.
