From Chalet to Clay Ave: Fillanthropie Celebrates Grand Opening of Its New Downtown Muskegon Refillery

What began as a 150-square-foot seasonal chalet at the Western Market is now blossoming into a full-fledged storefront in the heart of downtown. Fillanthropie, Muskegon’s first zero-waste refillery and sustainable goods shop, is thrilled to announce its Opening Celebration Weekend at its brand-new 1,200-square-foot location at 175 W Clay Ave.
From Friday, November 21 to Saturday, November 22, the community is invited to celebrate this exciting expansion with refill station demos, exclusive giveaways, and a whole lot of eco-friendly fun.
Founded by local entrepreneur Tarah Buchan, Fillanthropie is on a mission to make sustainability fun, approachable, and rooted in community connection. The shop offers refillable home and body care products, along with a curated selection of Michigan-made, women-owned, and minority-owned brands that align with its values of reducing plastic waste, transparency in ingredients and promoting reusability.
