Muskegon, MI – The Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber is partnering with the Muskegon Heritage Museum to host a free community day on Saturday, September 22 to celebrate the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber’s 125th Anniversary.

 

The public is invited to stop in and experience the rich history of Muskegon’s businesses and industries, and the many innovative products made in Muskegon. In addition, visitors can learn about the important role industry has played in the history of Muskegon. This “soft touch” museum is enjoyed by people of all age’s especially families.

 

The Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber will also debut their new display featuring highlights of the Chamber’s history and its involvement in numerous efforts over the last 125 years that have positively impacted the local business community and economy.

 

The museum is located at 561 W. Western Ave., Muskegon, MI 49440 and will be open from 11 am to 4 pm.

About the Muskegon Heritage Museum The Muskegon Heritage Museum has become a critically important part of the community’s cultural mosaic by preserving the living history of Muskegon’s economic and social development. As tourism has become an important part of Muskegon’s economic growth, the museum is a favorite stop for visitors including over 1400 passengers from the cruise ships. The Muskegon Heritage Museum is currently open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 11:00am to 4:00pm. With the success of this effort, the Museum plans to expand its open hours and its outreach to the K-12 population of Muskegon County, as well as to install an elevator and other accessibility improvements this fall.
