FRAUENTHAL CENTER NAMES ERIC MESSING AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Muskegon, MI  —  The Frauenthal Center has named Eric Messing as executive director of Muskegon’s premier entertainment destination.  Messing comes to the Frauenthal Center with vast arts management education and experience. Messing holds a BA in Communication from Aquinas College (’01) and a MFA from Wayne State University (’07) in Arts Management.  He was a three year member of the Hilberry Repertory Theatre Company in Detroit where he held multiple management positions.  In West Michigan he has served as executive director of Broadway Grand Rapids, which brings national Broadway tours to DeVos Performance Hall, director of marketing for Circle Theatre Grand Rapids and has consulted independently for multiple arts organizations.  In New York, he has worked with Primary Stages (marketing) and Chautauqua Theater Company (director of marketing).   Messing has also served on the Board of Directors for Actors’ Theatre Grand Rapids, Circle Theatre Grand Rapids and the Wayne State University College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts Alumni Association.  Messing and his wife, Carla, reside in Coopersville with their two rescue dogs, Murphy and Milton.
