WHITEHALL, MI – White Lake area middle and high school students will soon create a mural at the Nuveen Center that will represent them and the community.

Artist in residence Gypsy Schindler is leading the students as they plan and create the mural on the back outside wall of the center, 106 E. Colby St. in Whitehall.

“We talked about identity, what it means to be an individual and what it means to be part of a community,” Schindler said. “It’s not going to necessarily be faces, but they’re going to come back with images and materials and ideas. We’ll put them all together. I’m not exactly sure what it will look like, but it will be a representation of them.”
