Convention center in downtown Muskegon gets consultant to shape plan

MUSKEGON, MI – Plans for a $15 million convention center in the heart of downtown Muskegon are moving forward with the Muskegon County’s hiring of a consultant to develop a master plan.
The board of commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a $20,000 consulting contract with Conventions, Sports & Leisure International.
The Minneapolis-based CSL will refine the county’s master plan, analyze financing options and predict the overall tax impact of a new convention center once built.
