The Annual Gathering will also include the presentation of the 2025 Impact Award, recognizing individuals or organizations that go above and beyond to advance education, foster a vibrant economy, and promote prosperity for all in Muskegon County.
This year’s honorees, Dr. Richard and Nancy Peters, are recognized for their outstanding community leadership and advocacy. From downtown Muskegon’s redevelopment to community gardens, libraries, and youth literacy initiatives, this retired pathologist and former educator did more than simply walk alongside other advocates—their commitment and support continue to inspire the next generation of community leaders.
The Impact Award includes a $5,000 grant, which the recipients may designate to a local nonprofit whose mission aligns with one or more of the Community Foundation’s focus areas.
Todd Jacobs, President of the Community Foundation, shared his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We’re thrilled to welcome our friends, neighbors, and partners to celebrate the progress taking place throughout Muskegon County — and to honor the spirit of collaboration that drives our shared vision for a stronger, more vibrant community for generations to come.”
Guests will enjoy complimentary small bites provided by local restaurants from the Lumberman’s Vault, including Soul Filled, The Foundry Grill MKG, Up Leaf Café, The Press, and Casa Cabos. The event will also feature a cash bar and networking opportunities before the program begins.
