Birds of Prey Coming to Muskegon Lake Nature Persevere June 17
On June 17, the Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve will be presenting The Birds of Prey demonstration from the Outdoor Discovery Center. The program starts at 10. It is free to attend and there will be a raffle giving away gift certificates to local restaurant.
Great predators of the sky will swoop into North Muskegon as part of a unique presentation in June 17.
Joy Funk and Andrea Woody, master naturalists will be leading the presentation. Joy will discuss the habitats of both common and rare Michigan hawks and owls, as well as their importance to the ecosystem during the presentations. She will use four to five live birds to help further explain the importance of raptors in nature, including a barred Owl and American kestrel.
The presentation is designed for children 5 and older who will be accompanied by an adult.
The Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve is located in North Muskegon on Lake Ave., just west of the causeway. It has an education program for school kids in the area.
The Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve is operated by the Muskegon Environmental Research & Education Society a 501 C3 organization. The Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve is open every day from dawn to dusk.
