Big Flavors, Big Wins: 2025 Taste Plate Awards Announced

Muskegon, MI (June 15, 2025) – Taste of Muskegon closed out its 19th annual festival on Saturday with the presentation of the coveted Taste Plate Awards, recognizing the best dishes and experiences from the weekend.

More than 30 local restaurants and food trucks competed for honors in a range of categories, from Best Dessert to People’s Choice. Awards were determined through a combination of public voting and a panel of local judges.

The 2025 Taste Plate Award winners are:

People’s Choice

  2. She’s Divine Cuisine

Best Taste

  1. Hamburger Mikey: Jalapeños Roasted Pork Slider
  2. Tiki Boiz: Huli Chicken Bowl

Best New Bite

  1. Hamburger Mikey: El Dulce De Papi
  2. MELT Gourmet Sandwiches: Betta wit Fetta

Best Dessert

  1. Yodels Frozen Yogurt
  2. Frost Bite

Pigeon Hill Brewing Company presents Best Beer and Schmear

  1. Melt Gourmet Sandwiches: Tennessee Jed

Best Fresh Bite

  1. Colby’s Cafe & Brew: Signature Energy Drink
  2. She’s Divine Cuisine: Vegan Mushroom Birria Taco

Best Booth

  1. Hamburger Mikey
  2. Happy Matt’s Kettlecorn

“Our vendors put so much heart into what they do, and it really showed this weekend,” said Taste of Muskegon Marketing Manager Lisa Kraus. “The Taste Plate Awards give us a moment to recognize all the hard work and creativity that goes into making this event so special.”

Taste of Muskegon is now produced by EventLAB, a local nonprofit focused on building unforgettable community experiences. This year’s festival marked EventLAB’s first at the helm, bringing fresh energy to one of Muskegon’s most beloved summer traditions.
