In-Person program at Hackley Public Library

Join Great Lakes writer and artist Moheb Soliman for a nature-writing workshop, followed by a public reading of his new poetry book HOMES (Coffee House Press, 2021) and an informal talk with other local special guests.

Special guests include:

  • David Ruck from Great Lakes Outreach Media
  • Kathy Evans from West Michigan Shoreline Regional Development Commission
  • Patrick Horn from Muskegon Heritage Museum

Workshop participants will engage in writing prompts and discussion about the connections between nature, language, identity, and modern life.

The reading will present his collection of poems–part postmodern nature poetry and part immigrant travelogue, and the talk will further explore the diverse intersections and narratives of the Great Lakes region.

This event will take place inside Hackley Public Library (NOT at Heritage Landing). The first 15 people to arrive at the program will receive a free journal, while supplies last.

To register for this free program, visit hackleylibrary.org, call 231-722-8011, or stop by the library. The program will begin with the workshop at 5:30pm, a reading at 6pm reading, and a talk at 6:30pm (feel free to come for any / all of the portions of the program!). Free.
