The ATHENA on the Lakeshore is a program of the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce and The Chamber Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg. The award is presented annually and recognizes outstanding lakeshore women who have demonstrated excellence in their business or profession, have provided valuable service by devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in their community, assists other women in reaching their full potential and who exhibits the spirit of regional collaboration. The luncheon event is held the first Tuesday in October.

This year’s keynote speaker is Carole R. Valade. Valade is the Immediate Past Editor of Gemini Publications, where she was responsible for editorial policy, planning and development of publications and the editorial staff. As one of the first women in the U.S. to be named editor of a regional business newspaper, Valade has received awards for news writing, feature writing, column writing and newspaper design. She has served the West Michigan community through the Metropolitan YMCA, Grand Valley State University, PBS affiliates and many more.Space is Limited – Register Now!
