$500,000 loan from city sought for six-story downtown building

MUSKEGON, MI – A $500,000 loan and other incentives are being sought from the city of Muskegon to help finance a new six-story building in the heart of downtown.

The mixed-use building would be on Western Avenue between Second and Third streets on the lot currently used for a sand volleyball court.

Partners Joshua T. Canale and Christopher J. Benedict appeared before the Muskegon City Commission Monday to ask its support of an incentive package that includes the loan from the city’s economic development revolving loan fund and a commitment to lease 10 of 20 apartments provided no one else does.
