The Greater Muskegon Jaycees announces the return of their annual Snowfest in Downtown Muskegon, January 29th – February 1st, 2014. Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, the Jaycees are keeping pace with Downtown Development by bringing fun activities for all ages. This three day festival centered on Western Avenue brings a Trivia night, Battle of the Bowls by area restaurants, Snow Cornhole tournament, Kidsfest and an awards ceremony to honor young people who are making a difference in their community.
The Jaycees will partner again this year with Racquets Downtown Grill to offer a heated Beverage Tent on Western Avenue Featuring local bands Live Radio and Whoopee Kat!
The Jaycees will also be bringing back the traditional Snow Volleyball Tournament. Play will be back in the streets on February 1st.
In addition, the Jaycees Snowfest will drive traffic to the Muskegon Lumberjacks home game on the 1st. The Michigan Jaycees will partake in their traditional Broomball game during Intermission.

Thursday January 30th – Trivia Night Presented by Celebration! Cinema
Time: 6:30 pm and will end at 9pm; Registration ends at 6:50pm
Location: Racquets Downtown Grill
Cost: $50 entry fee per team of 4-5 people
This year’s event features Team style Trivia. Come out and benefit the local school of your choice in a nonstop entertaining trivia night John VanWyck. Categories will include famous movie quotes, movie legends, comics, icons of comedy, Greek Mythology, and more!
Friday, January 31st – Live Music by Live Radio and Whose Tweet is it Anyways?
Location: Heated Beverage Tent, Racquets
Time: 7:00 - Midnight
Muskegon’s only heated beverage tent this winter! Join the Jaycees and local band Live Radio. Local improve comedy troup Whose Tweet is it Anyways? starts at 7:00 p.m., band starts at 8:00 p.m. $3 cover charge per person after 8pm. Must be 21 or older to enter.
Saturday, February 1st – Battle of the Bowls and KidsFest Presented by LongerDays.com
Time: 11:30 am-2:30 pm; Awards at 3pm
Location: Third Street Grill at the Holiday Inn Muskegon Harbor
Cost: Admission is free, $.50 for a 4 oz bowl
Battle of the Bowls will be held at the Third Street Grill, 939 Third Street, Downtown Muskegon. Soup and Chili will be served to the public from 11:30-2:30. Samples of the entries can be purchased by the public for $0.50 per 4 oz serving. Restaurants will compete in categories of either soup or chili, judge’s choice and people's choice trophies will be awarded for both categories. Awards will be presented at 2:30pm. Currently restaurants that have registered are: 750 Grill, RESTAURANT NAMES HERE.
This year, Battle of the Bowls will host the Distinguished Service Awards. These awards honor individuals in our community between the ages of 21-40 for their contributions to the Muskegon community and achievements in their chosen career. The Jaycees will give awards to an Outstanding Young Man, Woman, Public Servant and Educator. Awards will be given at 1:30pm. This year’s awards are sponsored as follows: Outstanding Young Woman – Deb and Bob Mogdis, Outstanding Young Man and Outstanding Young Public Servant – Shorline Insurance Agency, and Outstanding Young Educator.

KidsFest - Along with Battle of the Bowls (Sat Feb 1, 11:30-2:30) at the Third Street Grill at Holiday Inn Muskegon Harbor. Kids crafts will include coloring lunch bags for the Kids Food Basket, face painting, coloring, and other winter crafts.

Time: 8:00am Registration, 9am Tournament Starts.
Players should meet in the Racquets Downtown Grill
Location: Courts will be on Western Ave between 3rd and 4th Streets
Cost: $40 per co-ed team (Each team must have at least 2 ladies)
Limited to 12 teams so sign up early!
Payments can be made via PayPal through www.muskegonsnowfest.org.
Prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winning teams
Saturday, February 1st – Snow Cornhole
Time: 10:00am Registration, 11am event starts.
Players should meet in the Entertainment on Western Ave.
Location: Courts will be on Western Ave. between 3rd and 4th Streets
Cost: $30 day-of for a team of 2. $20 for a team of two that signs up and pays before January 21. Payments can be made via PayPal through www.muskegonsnowfest.org.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st & 2nd place.
Auction items will also be part of the event
Saturday, February 1st Muskegon Lumberjack’s Hockey Game, 7:15 p.m.
Come and watch the Muskegon Lumberjacks take on the Chicago Steel. During intermission, watch the Michigan Jaycees in a broomball match!
