5.17.12 Elzinga & Volkers (E&V) received recognition as one of only 12 Elite Category Winners from the 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For. This is the third time in the last four years the company has earned an Elite designation. Also, in 2011 the company was also recognized as a National winner.
E&V received their Elite status in the Community Initiatives category. The winner was selected based on the extent to which the organization is committed to improving the local community while providing the encouragement and time for employees to participate in a meaningful way. Elzinga & Volkers has spent a significant amount of time and energy giving back to the community, because they believe a business can only be successful if the community they are a part of is well taken care of and thriving.
A few of the highlighted community activities the company participated in during the past year include:
• A blood drive at the corporate office through MI Blood. Nineteen pints were donated!
• Food/clothing drive for a local church’s new outreach program.
• Two Habitat for Humanity build days.
The 2012 Elite winners were assessed by an independent research firm and received the highest scores in their respective category.
