5.8.12 Decades of research confirms that summer learning loss is real. Summer is a time for slowing down, not shutting down. There are many things we can do for our children during the summer months. One example would be summer camps. While there are several of options available for camps, the challenge for parents is to identify a camp that keeps children engaged and is a learning experience. Interesting camps can keep students engaged so that they can go back to school in the fall ready to take on new learning challenges.
To help boost confidence and enhance academic skills, Sylvan Learning of Muskegon is offering a series of academic camps that will help students start the new school year strong. Sylvan’s Summer Camps are age- and grade-appropriate and are focused on targeted skill and subject areas. These camps are led by caring, qualified teachers that use Sylvan’s motivational system to help build confidence.

Camp Sum Fun - Addition & Subtraction Math Facts A fun approach for your child to improve understanding of basic addition and subtraction skills while increasing speed and accuracy! Grades 1-3 / June 18-22, M-F 1-3pm Cost: $250
Multiplication & Division Math Facts Camp A fun approach for your child to improve understanding of basic multiplication and division skills, while increasing speed and accuracy! Grades 3-5 / July 9-13, M-F 1-3pm Cost: $250
Writing Camp Strong writing skills are essential for success both in and out of the classroom. Learn strategic and creative writing techniques to boost confidence in all subject areas. Level 1 Grades 4-6, Level 2 Grades 7-9 / Level 1: July 30-Aug 10, M-F 1-3pm / Level 2: Aug 13-24, M-F 1-3pm Cost: $295
Fit 4 Algebra Camp Did you know Algebra is the foundation to your child’s success in high school and beyond? Let Sylvan be your personal trainer this summer and get him or her in tip-top shape for Algebra!
