Armed Forces Salmon Assault

4.2.12 The Muskegon Charter Boat Association is proud to present the second annual charity veterans fishing event, the Armed Forces Salmon Assault, to honor our servicemen and women.

The annual event will take place on May 19, 2012, on Lake Michigan with a half day of fishing and return to Bluffton Bay Marina for a luncheon and awards ceremony. Our goal for this year is to have 25 boats participate and host around 85 to 100 Muskegon County Veterans. All charity proceeds from this event will benefit our local veterans as well; we will be donating to the Muskegon County Veterans Affairs. This is a nonprofit organization that helps local area veterans with various types of assistance both big and small. The Salmon Assault will have several different fun activities within it. There will be 2 mini tournaments. First all five branches of the armed forces will be represented and compete for the biggest 4 fish box being weighed in at the luncheon to follow the fishing portion of the event. The second mini tournament will be between all the Muskegon County VFWs, Legions and Clubs who want to make a team, with the same biggest 4 fish box rules, with a traveling trophy. There will also be an overall biggest fish of the day trophy. And for those of you without a competitive side, we will have several boats for just a leisurely fishing trip. All the participants will receive a free event T Shirt as part of the day’s festivities. The luncheon will include a pig roast and a fish fry with all the extras.

This year’s format will also have several different levels of sponsorship opportunities; a full boat sponsorship, a boat co-sponsorship of 2 sponsors per boat, and a charitable mention sponsorship, along with several others. If you are interested in sponsoring please contact us.
