Baker College of Muskegon Launches CDA Prep Program for Preschool Educators

Evening classes allow students to keep their 'day jobs'
July 15, 2014 --- Baker College of Muskegon is launching a new certificate program in the fall quarter that helps preschool educators prepare for the assessment process for the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential that is administered by the Council for Professional Recognition. The CDA Credential is becoming more often required for employment in the preschool education field.

L.C. Walker Arena Gears Up for Fall in Hosting Lakeshore Outdoor Expo

The two-day event to take place immediately prior to beginning of the fall hunting and fishing seasons

Walker Arena is excited to announce that the 2014 Lakeshore Outdoor Expo presented by Clear Channel Media and Entertainment is coming to the lakeshore’s event center for two days on Friday, September 12th from 4:00-8:00 pm and Saturday, September 13th from 10:00 am-6:00 pm for all outdoorsmen and women gearing up for the Michigan hunting season openers along with the beginning of Salmon and Steelhead Trout fishing.

Tech Center Students Compete at National Leadership Conference in Disney World

July 2, 2014 --- Four Muskegon Area Career Tech Center (MACTC) students from the Allied Health Technology and Health Science Academy Programs competed in a variety of healthcare skills and leadership events at the National HOSA Leadership Conference June 23–26, 2014. These students earned the opportunity to compete nationally based on their performance at state level competition at the Grand Traverse Resort in April.

Classic Cars Sought for the First Annual Heritage Village Vintage Garden & Car Show

July 1, 2014 --- A display of up to 250 cars will be a highlight of the First Annual Heritage Village Vintage Garden & Car Show on Saturday, July 12 in downtown Muskegon.  Owners of newer cars to classics are invited to register to participate in the event which will begin at 9 am and conclude at 1 pm with trophies presented to the owners of the ten Best in Show vehicles.

Walking Garden Tours and Live Local Music on July 12 in downtown Muskegon

July 1, 2014 --- The First Annual Heritage Village Vintage Garden & Car Show on Saturday, July 12 in downtown Muskegon will include a walking tour of over a dozen public and private gardens.  Local musicians will play in some of the private gardens and there will also be music in Hackley Park.
