BAKER COLLEGE OF MUSKEGON STUDENTS EARN GOLD, SILVER, NUMEROUS TOP-10 RANKINGS AT NATIONAL BPA COMPETITION

May 20, 2015 -- Baker College of Muskegon students won numerous top-10 awards, including first- and second-place finishes, at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference (NLC), May 6-10, in Anaheim, California. The eight Baker College students who competed comprised the largest BPA team to represent the Muskegon campus at the national level to date. The convention drew approximately 5,700 students and advisors from across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Amusement Park Physics is Today at Michigan's Adventure

May 20, 2015 -- A Day at the Park (APP 2015) is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Michigan’s Adventure in Muskegon, Michigan. This program, operated by the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District Regional Mathematics and Science Center, is especially designed for students in Grades 5 through 8 and runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A total of 474 students from eleven middle schools in Michigan will be participating.

Ribbon cutting at Sensory Garden for seniors and students today

May 20, 2015 -- From 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. students from the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District (MAISD) Transition Campus will host a ribbon cutting event at the new Sensory Garden on the property of the Sanctuary At The Park Nursing Home at 570 Harvey Street in Muskegon. The location makes the garden easily accessible for residents in both nearby senior living communities (Sanctuary At The Oaks and Sanctuary At The Park) and Transition Campus students to visit and tend. The Transition Campus is located at 684 Harvey Street, just steps away from the garden.

First ever Early College "Completers" celebrate success at MCC on Wednesday

May 19, 2015 -- Students successfully completing the Early College program at Muskegon Community College will tell you their journey wasn’t easy, but boy was it worth it. Their parents, who collectively saved a whopping $385,000 on college tuition and books, will agree.

May 6, 2015 -- Muskegon Area Career Tech Center (MACTC) students Xavier Baron (Oakridge), Matthew Visger (Montague) and Jailon Jamison (Fruitport) traveled to Anaheim, California to compete with the brightest and most skilled computer whizzes in the nation.

HOLTON MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS GET “CAUGHT RED HANDED!”

May 18, 2015 -- On Tuesday, May 19, 2015, 7th-12th Grade students will be recognized at a school wide
assembly at Holton’s Red Devil Stadium for exhibiting outstanding behavior this school year.
Staff at Holton Middle and High School implemented a Positive Behavior System (PBS) this
year.

2015 Ravenna Senior Awards Night

May 6, 2015 -- Ravenna High School graduating seniors were awarded $345,600 in scholarships during the senior awards night. The members of the class of 2015, which consists of 82 graduating seniors, were awarded with scholarships such as the Jonathan Link Memorial Scholarship, the START scholarship, the Michigan Competitive Scholarship, the DI State Scholarship, the Bruce and Antonia Privacky Memorial Scholarship, and many more.

Last Change to Register for Muskegon's First HERO Mud Run - May 16th

May 11, 2015 -- The HERO Mud Run is coming to the Muskegon County Fairgrounds on May 16, 2015. The first course of its kind in the area, the HERO Mud Run introduces a three-, six- or eight-mile run, equipped with 25 plus unique, military-style obstacles.
