Muskegon’s latest expansion into the “blue economy” is beginning to take shape at the Grand Valley State University’s Annis Water Resources Institute.
Construction is well under way on the water resources institute’s new $3.4 million field research building on Muskegon Lake in downtown Muskegon. The field research station is being developed to support the activities of the institute in the adjacent Lake Michigan Center.
The foundation, walls, roof and interior floors are being put in place by crews working for general contractor Erhardt Construction of Ada. Mild weather has allowed the contractor to get the building exterior closer to completion so interior work can progress this winter.
