LAKESHORE CENTER FOR RETAIL SERVICES

Living downtown is bringing excitement to the district.  The former Muskegon Boilerworks building has been redeveloped to provide homes and work space for artists in a tax-free Renaissance Zone.  In the heart of downtown, an ambitious, pedestrian-friendly development of townhouses, shops, and offices are bringing even more vigor to the city's center.

In the Lakeside Business District you can boat, bike, walk or motor west from downtown, along Muskegon Lake, and you'll discover another neighborhood in the midst of transformation.  Travelers, both leisure and business, are patronizing the district's many art galleries, gift shops, bed and breakfasts, restaurants, marinas, charter boats, bike rentals and other specialty shops.

In the Lakes Mall District, the Lakes Mall, a 700,000-square-foot regional shopping complex in Fruitport Township, encompasses 70 stores and eight restaurants.  Smaller malls, banks, office parks healthcare facilities, hotels, and condos all have developed around the mall, making it the fastest-growing regional shopping area in West Michigan.

FOR RELOCATION

Communities along Michigan's western shore are undergoing a renaissance, and the Muskegon coastline, perhaps more than anywhere else, exemplifies the positive change taking place.

Residents of our city's historic neighborhoods have completed extensive home renovations, and entrepreneurs have converted vacant warehouses and storefronts into spacious shops, professional offices, unique eateries and loft apartments. The Edison Landing development on the Muskegon waterfront offers remarkable opportunities for new or expanding businesses, and the construction of residential condominiums at the site will add yet another option to the home market.
In the heart of downtown, anchored by the new Chamber of Commerce building, is an ambitious, pedestrian-friendly development of townhouses, shops and offices that will bring new vigor to our city's center.

AFFORDABLE COST OF LIVING

Despite the construction boom and a steady increase in the value of existing real estate, the average price of residential and commercial property remains well below that of many other communities in the state and nation.

The documented growth in jobs and population in Muskegon County is great news for our community!  We believe it is important for people to live where they work, to invest in a community personally and professionally. We are please to offer a list of our Chamber member realtors who love Muskegon County.
