Entrepreneurship is a vital part of growing our economy.  Without the innovation that entrepreneurs bring to the local economy, fewer jobs would be created, fewer problems would be solved, and less money would flow into the local market.

« Jason Piasecki, Qonverge

The Muskegon Area Chamber of Commerce announces the 2009 Entrepreneur Award Winner is Randy Crow, RC Productions/Source One Digital.

Randy started RC Productions in 1981 as a voice production company for radio and TV commercials.  RC/Source One Digital has realized growth and success by upgrading its equipment and processes to keep pace with the industry and always ensuring customer satisfaction as the true measure of success. RC Productions/Source One Digital is a global company with 36 employees.

“The problem with picking a winner for this award is that there are too many terrific nominees,” noted Bob Scolnik, Selection Committee Chair. Winners are nominated by the business community and chosen by their peers, fellow business owners who have been or are in similar situations.

Crow was one of four outstanding entrepreneur finalists nominated this year including Denise Kanaar, D & D Logistics; Deb Lambers, The Book Nook & Java Shop; Jason Piasecki, Qonverge. Each was recognized at the Chamber Entrepreneur Awards Program on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Muskegon Country Club where top community leaders and entrepreneurs were in attendance.

Keynote speaker, Doug DeVos, CEO of Amway Corporation, enlightened the crowd with his inspiration and success story. Sponsors for this year’s program included: Warner, Norcross & Judd; Fifth Third Bank; Waddell & Reed; Muskegon Brake & Tire; Norton Pines Athletic Club; Velarde Marketing & MiBiz. This year’s Chamber signature champion sponsors are: Alcoa Howmet, Blue Cross/Blue Shield – Blue Care Network, Huntington Bank, L3 Communications, Shoreline Vision, and Parmenter O’Toole.
